Rory Tait is one of the UK’s leading energy lawyers.
A graduate of Exeter University Rory began his legal career with Turner Kenneth Brown solicitors in London. He was UK Head of Energy at national law firm Eversheds and before that at Edge Ellison (now part of Hammonds) and McKenna’s.
Rory has advised the developers of large scale renewable generation projects in the UK. These have included biomass-fuelled plants, biogas plants, energy from waste plants and wind energy projects. On these projects Rory advised on the regulatory regime, connection agreements and off-take arrangements with supply companies.
Rory is Secretary of the Renewable Energy Association and Director of the Business Council for Sustainable Development-UK where his sits on their Low Carbon Energy Group. He is a regular speaker at conferences on energy issues including the new financial incentives soon to be available to the renewable sector.
Rory is married with two young children and lives in Teddington. His interests include horseracing, railways and golf.
